Participation And Outreach
The new department of Participation and Outreach launched in September 09. presenting an opportunity to open up training of the highest quality to the widest range of people.
Circus is not just about learning one skill – the best artists are those who take a holistic approach to the training.
The new programme is designed to make the most of the resources available and ensure that circus students – be it aerial, acrobatics or equilibristic - have the same support.
STRUCTURE
In order to improve our services, we need to bring this programme in line with Circus Space’s other activities. We have set the following structure for all our classes:
• Classes will run in terms of no more than 12 weeks
• A led warm up will be essential for all students
• Latecomers will not be admitted
• All classes are non refundable and non exchangeable
• All classes must be paid for in full before the student takes classPlease use the links at the top of this page to view details of the courses on offer.
THE FUTURE
As of September 09, Participation and Outreach will establish a clear progression route for newcomers into the profession. There is a lot of work to be done creating pathways for aspiring artists of all ages. We need to streamline our existing provision making it economically viable and integral to the creative aspirations of the performing arts industry. In future years, we hope to develop more performance and participatory opportunities.
There will be opportunity for students input through our student rep scheme. Do please email eira@thecircusspace.co.uk if you would like to be part of this group.
